Technical Architect - [AI/ML

Overview

Summer-Browning Associates are currently supporting our Central Government client who are seeking a Technical Architect on an AI programme, for an initial 6 month contract.

Service Location: London (successful candidate must be able to travel to London once per week)

Responsibilities

  • Apply technical architecture expertise on an enterprise AI programme; design and deliver AI solutions in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Lead AI/ML architecture and system design (minimum 2 years) with hands-on coding of AI solutions.
  • Design secure integrations between AI solutions and legacy enterprise software, ensuring compliance with government security requirements, including SSO.
  • Consider AI model costing to produce ROI and modular reusable services with maintainable effort.
  • Understand data architecture, API design, and microservices patterns.
  • Adhere to government technology standards and security frameworks; operate within regulated environments with strict security/compliance requirements.
  • Apply data ethics frameworks for responsible and transparent AI deployment.
  • Work in agile, incubator, or rapid development environments; operate at pace and take calculated technical risks to deliver faster.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years in technical architecture at enterprise level.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary teams to design and deliver solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of AI/ML frameworks, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and MLOps practices.
  • Experience with secure integrations and SSO authentication protocols; government security requirements.
  • Experience with costing AI models for ROI and modular services; maintenance at a moderate level.
  • Experience with data architecture, APIs, and microservices.
  • Knowledge of government technology standards and security frameworks.
  • Experience of working in regulated environments with strict security/compliance requirements.
  • Recent experience operating within a Central Government department.
