We are seeking a Technical Lead to join our global Technical Consultancy team of specialists and architects. The role is a senior position delivering high-impact digital transformation solutions across complex real estate portfolios. You’ll bring leadership, deep technical knowledge, and a passion for shaping the future of smart buildings at scale.

Overview

The Digital Buildings Technical Lead works to define operational standards and maximise value from building technology infrastructure across global real estate footprints. Our teams transform the built environment through data, cloud infrastructure, and smart technology solutions, partnering with clients across the full real estate lifecycle to develop and implement scalable digital strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Technical Consulting function, guiding project delivery teams and contributing to business development.
  • Deliver high-quality, technically sound deliverables to clients and ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor, supporting the business development team and collaborating on latest technologies, market solutions, processes and standards.
  • Define operating models for IoT/OT in secure, policy-driven building environments and lead by example in cross-regional delivery.
  • Foster alignment with FPC’s mission, values and culture, promoting trust, innovation and collaboration.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong stakeholder management and client relationships to translate business requirements into technical tasks.
  • Consulting experience shaping and implementing strategic and operational IoT/OT solutions in complex environments.
  • Experience in large, complex enterprise environments with global real estate portfolios and multiple vendors.
  • Commercial awareness of professional services delivery, resource management and project performance reporting.
  • Extensive OT/IoT experience in smart building environments, including maintenance models and lifecycle strategies.
  • Understanding of IoT/OT architecture, protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus), networking, and smart building data architecture.
  • Experience with OT assets (sensors, controllers, metering, FDD, alarms) and integration with IT systems.
  • Strong OT/IoT cybersecurity knowledge, including patching, access controls, and incident response.
  • Ability to translate risks into compliance requirements (firmware management, credentials, remediation).
  • Lifecycle involvement in smart building technologies, change projects, operations transition, and assurance activities.
  • Experience defining and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for OT systems and contributing to SLAs and vendor contracts.

Desirable / Additional Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years in Digital/Smart Buildings or related roles, with senior consultancy or engineering experience.
  • Proven track record delivering Digital Buildings/IoT programs for global clients across mixed real estate portfolios.
  • Strong project leadership in coordinated Digital/Smart Buildings and MEP Controls design.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office.
  • Professional certifications in digital/smart building solutions (e.g., LEED AP, WELL AP, BREEAM, WiredScore).
  • Experience implementing Cloud platforms (Google, Microsoft, AWS) and data analytics.

Working Location

This UK/EMEA-based role serves global clients and requires flexibility in location, including client sites, FPC premises, and remote work. Travel across time zones may be required.

Key Performance Indicators

KPIs will be discussed with your Line Manager and may include areas such as team leadership, project delivery, personal development, teamwork, and client relationships/satisfaction.
