Job Title: Technical Delivery Manager

Location: Bristol/Hybrid (On-site 2 days per week)

Contract Length: 9 months (Starting November)

Day Rate: £425 - £500

Role

The Technical Delivery Manager will provide effective coordination and integration of delivery of complex change and technical components.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large scale, high impact projects providing delivery support for the end-to-end delivery of change including governance and service introduction.
  • Develop the sequence for integration-related tasks in collaboration with the Product Owner (PO) and align these tasks with the Lab backlog.
  • Catalogues and handles dependencies between the Lab and other teams to ensure detailed execution.
  • Collaborate with external collaborators to ensure alignment, enabling the Lab to deliver efficiently and achieve bold goals.
  • Identify obstacles to delivery and address them when feasible, advancing them to product owners or Lab leadership as vital.
  • Serve as a bridge between the supplier (3rd Party) and crucial customers within the business, ensuring detailed coordination.
  • Manage complex and high-risk implementations requiring integration between multiple parties (internal/external) to ensure safe and successful delivery.
  • Own the integration process and implementation events for shared infrastructure, like upgrading the Mainframe, coordinating parties to ensure successful change.
  • Provide expertise for governance activities owned by the Product Owner, such as PRIA, for changes across multiple labs.
  • Coordinate across multiple teams to develop medium-term and/or long-term work schedules that help the organisation achieve its priorities and fulfill its business plans.
  • Examine regular incidents using existing regulatory and compliance processes. Solve immediate compliance issues and advise senior colleagues on complex problems.
  • Respond to individual and team objectives and invest in improving personal performance by growing own skills and capabilities, mentoring others when required.

What You'll Need

  • Experience working on financial services products, ideally payment and/or commercial lending
  • Experience within a technology change environment, working with regulatory, business and software engineering teams
  • Ability to coordinate highly complex change across multiple teams and own the dependencies for complex, cross‑organisation changes to deliver great customer outcomes.
  • Passionate and inspiring leadership skills
  • Ability to work with teams using an agile delivery method (e.g. scrum / kanban)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to support your own, and the teams, work
  • Strong governance mentality to ensure that complex change is delivered safely

Planning, Tracking, Reporting & Governance

Draws on appropriate Status Reporting, Product/Platform/Lab Roadmaps and attendance at agile meetings to form a view on progress, status, risks and issues and resolves high priority issues affecting delivery. Takes accountability for delivery forecasting. Identifies opportunities to improve delivery speed and quality, by identifying risks/issues/dependencies that are not easily evident while helping others to acknowledge them.

Technology Leadership

Uses varied experience to manage complex technical work, ensuring alignment to technology principles. Coordinates technology changes impact across teams/Labs.

Stakeholder Management

Uses personal impact and stakeholder positioning to build and sustain long‑term relationships at all levels (including C‑suite executives). Resolves stakeholder conflict, builds consensus and influences outcomes.
