About the Role

Lead technical strategy, client engagement and business growth for major infrastructure development projects. Drive innovation, support diversity and deliver high quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and visible leadership for the Development discipline.
  • Partner with colleagues to coordinate across the Development discipline and share market intelligence.
  • Engage with the Technical Leadership Group to promote technical innovation and best practice.
  • Drive business development by building relationships with key decision makers and securing major opportunities.
  • Lead and support bids, authorise submissions and demonstrate added value commercially and technically.
  • Act as Project Manager or Director for major projects and strategically important commissions.
  • Mentor colleagues on succession planning and emerging talent programmes.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (Chartered status or working towards chartership).
  • Commercial and strategic capability with a proven record of delivering new business opportunities.
  • Expert stakeholder management and team management skills.
  • Inter‑personal skills with strong leadership and management ability.
  • Broad experience across civil design for developments and multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to apply sound logic in ambiguous situations and drive innovative culture.
