Technical Director — Manchester based Scale Up
£100–140k + Share Options | Hybrid Working
A fast-growing Manchester-based scale-up is seeking a Technical Director to join their executive team. This is a rare opportunity to work closely with the founders to shape business operations, own systems and automation, and drive company-wide process improvements.
About the Role
This is not a product-focused role—it’s about transforming how the business operates. You’ll:
- Own the technology strategy and operations, building a roadmap of high-impact, scalable improvements.
- Automate processes and champion an “automation-first” mindset.
- Build and scale the tech function from a small team.
- Lead cross-functional change, embedding new processes across teams.
- Prototype solutions, set system standards, and track business impact through efficiency gains and improved accuracy.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven track record of leading transformation in fast-paced scale-ups, startups, or SMEs.
- Hands-on with systems, automation, and workflow improvements.
- Experience driving adoption of new processes across multiple teams.
- Curious about AI, automation, and emerging technologies; enjoys experimenting with tools.
- Can balance strategic vision with operational delivery, leading from the front while staying close to detail.
Why Join
- Directly influence the scaling of a successful, high-growth business alongside the founders.
- Hybrid working with flexibility, based in Manchester city centre.
- Competitive salary (£100–140k) plus share options.
If you’re a Head of, Tech Director, or CTO who thrives on improving how work gets done, building scalable systems, and seeing tangible business impact, this is the role you’ve been waiting for.
