Technical Grant Manager

We are currently looking to bring in a Technical Grant Manager to join our team, specialising in the securing and management of our external grant funding.
This is an exciting time to join Notpla, right on the brink of a record-breaking year for revenue and on-track for major growth in the next 18-24 months. Bolstering confidence in our financial performance, we have just secured a Series A+ fundraise for £20million, enabling us to scale our growth and environmental impact faster than ever.
The Technical Grant Manager will work with both our Innovation Director and our Senior Grants And Partnerships Manager and will be responsible for managing the consortium led grant projects that we are responsible for delivering and managing. As well as this you will also be responsible for supporting the grants team in the writing of technical elements of our grant applications for new grants moving forward.

We are looking for a Grant Manager with a technical grounding, with experience in the material development or process engineering space. Alongside this we need someone who has excellent project management skills and who has the soft and technical skills required to built long lasting stakeholder relationships. Ideally you will have experience of managing consortiums or large multi-company projects and will also have an understanding of the grant writing process. You will also need to be a problem solver with strong communication skills and a team first mentality. As well as the above, your other day to day responsibilities will include:
Consortium and Technical Project Management):
- Lead on the implementation of Notpla’s Horizon-funded project
- Partner coordination and communication (regular meetings & email conversations)
- Project coordination within Notpla (regular meetings, check-ins, and individual contribution), managing and driving forward Notpla’s activities, including executing trials and lab research
- Manage the reporting process both internally and to Horizon
- Financial and budgetary tracking
- Project progress tracking against milestones and deliverables
- Risk management and mitigation planning
- Maximising the value from the grant across the business
Grant proposal support and writing:
- Support with the technical writing process for complex grant proposals to Innovate UK, Eureka, Horizon and others, collecting information, writing high quality copy and creating engaging application content.
- Help to manage partner relations and coordinate collection of partner input for proposals.
- Coordinate proposal input across Notpla, working closely with different teams to collect content.
- Lead on the application process for small grants and awards.
- Develop, create and utilise templates and AI software to improve efficiency in the grant writing process.
