Summary

NG Bailey has a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Manager to join our team, ideally based in our Salford, Manchester office. In this role, you will lead, own, and manage the technical risk and opportunities within the business, from inception to completion and client handover.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Design Manager, Technical Manager, Project Manager, or similar with a strong electrical background to work on prestigious projects within the region. We offer hybrid working with 3 days in the office and some travel within the region and occasionally across the UK.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading technical engineering management on projects to achieve company, team, and individual objectives.
• Providing technical advice and supporting business development with technical solutions.
• Conducting design/technical reviews to ensure correctness, value, and compliance.
• Preparing monthly project reports highlighting progress, risks, and opportunities.
• Advising on commercial progress and corrective actions.
• Managing responsibilities matrix for external designs and scope gaps.
• Building relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Assisting in technical management fees and ensuring accurate costing and forecasting.

Qualifications:

• Strong electrical background from a Project Manager or Design perspective.
• Understanding of Design and Build and traditional contracts.
• Degree in Electrical, Building Services, or related discipline.
• Extensive experience in Mechanical / MEP design and technical management.
