Base pay range: £90,000 - 120,000 + 10% Bonus + 10% Shares + Benefits
Security clearance: You must either hold active SC, or be eligible for SC, and potentially DV.

About the role
You will be a Technical Product Manager at the intersection of engineering, delivery, and user outcomes. You’ll lead product delivery for secure AWS-based platforms in government transformation programmes, shaping roadmaps that balance compliance, security, performance, and user experience. The role suits someone with a DevRel, DevEx, Platform, or Product Lead background who thrives in technical environments and can engage with both hands-on engineers and senior government stakeholders. You will also contribute to Appvia’s long-term product management strategy.
Interview process – 3 stages: Discovery with Talent Acquisition Manager; Interview with Hiring Manager; Final Interview with CEO.
Requirements
About you
Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager / Platform Product Owner in secure, complex environments. Candidates should have:
- Strong AWS knowledge (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch)
- Understanding of platform engineering concepts
- Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps toolchains
- Secure multi-tenanted environments / landing zones
- Experience with UK government programmes (SC/DV clearance eligible)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Skills & Experience
- Product Ownership: Define and own the product vision and roadmap for secure AWS-based platform products used within government programmes; align delivery with business objectives, government standards (e.g., NCSC Cloud Security Principles), and compliance frameworks; drive backlog prioritisation balancing features, security, and operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the product voice with government stakeholders; run workshops, discovery sessions, and demos with end-users, security officers, and senior decision-makers.
- Technical Leadership: Collaborate with platform engineers, architects, and security specialists to translate requirements; define and roll out outcome-focused SOWs; ensure delivery aligns with DevSecOps best practices (automation, IaC, continuous assurance).
- Governance & Reporting: Define and monitor KPIs/OKRs for product success (adoption, performance, cost optimisation, compliance); provide clear progress reporting to government stakeholders.
Desirables
- Multi-cloud exposure (Azure, GCP)
- Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimisation
- Hands-on software development or platform engineering background
- Agile delivery at scale (dual-track agile, SAFe, LeSS)
Qualifications
- Cloud certifications at expert/professional level are highly desirable (AWS, Azure, GCP); examples: AWS Solutions Architect Professional
- Desirable Kubernetes administration certification (CKA) and related security certification (CKSS)
