Technical Product Manager

New Yesterday

At GWI we’re always looking for extraordinary people who thrive on making an extraordinary impact. Right now we’re looking for a Technical Product Manager to play a key role in our calculations squad of the Platform Product team in London. If that’s you, and making a difference gets you out of bed in the morning, keep reading. It could be the start of something, well, extraordinary.

Overview

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

As our Technical Product Manager you’ll sit within the Calculations squad of the Platform Product team, who are responsible for GWI’s high-performance computation engine that processes billions of data points to deliver fast, accurate, and scalable insights. This system sits at the core of our platform, powering in-memory data processing across all our products and services. You’ll work closely with engineering teams to define how our core calculations, APIs, and data pipelines power end-user insights. You’ll ensure that our platform remains scalable, reliable, and future-proof, while translating highly technical capabilities into clear product outcomes. This role is perfect for someone who loves solving complex technical challenges, thrives in cross-functional collaboration, and is excited by the idea of building systems that empower customers to uncover meaningful insights at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the roadmap and backlog for backend systems (calculation engine, APIs, data processing pipelines) that power insights across our platform.
  • Translate technical detail into clarity; document expected system behaviors and calculations logic, write product requirements, and communicate technical changes to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering leads to prioritize and deliver performance, scalability, and reliability improvements without disrupting team autonomy.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Data Science, Research, Customer Success) to ensure backend capabilities align with product strategy and customer needs.
  • Drive technical alignment by facilitating discussions, clarifying dependencies, and ensuring consistent delivery across multiple product squads.
  • Evangelize the platform internally and externally, help stakeholders understand how our core systems translate into customer value.

It’s also fun; shaking things up is what working for a growing company is all about. So you’ll need to be flexible, comfortable with continuous change, and working in a high-tempo environment as we grow.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Product Management (3+ years), preferably in SaaS, B2B, data, or platform-oriented environments.
  • Technical fluency; you can comfortably engage with engineers on topics like APIs, distributed systems, data pipelines, or containerized services (i.e. Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into structured, actionable product requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work in high-autonomy environments, supporting engineering teams while driving alignment with business priorities.
  • Equally important is attitude. We want people who think big (to make an impact), ask why (to find a better way), and show respect (to everyone, at every level, all the time).

What’s in it for me?

You’ll do meaningful work and have the opportunity to contribute to a growing platform. Benefits include:

  • Tons of days off: 25 days annual leave | Xmas office closures
  • Great work-life balance: Flexitime | early Friday finishes | Work-from-anywhere options
  • Family-focused flexibility: Carer days | Enhanced parental leave | Health cash plan for your family
  • A commitment to YOU: Accredited learning programs | Mental and physical health initiatives | Reward and recognition programs | Career development opportunities
