Overview

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner who develops the Experian UK Data & Analytics Platform vision, translating business and market needs, alongside architectural direction and data strategy into a clear actionable roadmap. Reporting into our Data Engineering Director, you will ensure stakeholders across the business understand how technical components like ingestion pipelines, data contracts, and access layers drive real-world impact.

Responsibilities

  • Define and prioritise platform capabilities with a focus on interoperability, scalability, and value delivery.
  • Build a platform roadmap that connects technical progress and business enablement.
  • Maintain both short-term (3-6 month) delivery visibility and long-term (12-24 month) strategic evolution, showing how foundational components ladder into analytical value.
  • Interface between Engineering, Architecture, and Product teams, owning backlog readiness.
  • Collaborate to write clear, testable acceptance criteria, define scope boundaries, surface dependencies, and de-risk delivery all while ensuring what\'s built is usable and aligned to the data strategy principles.
  • Champion federated data contribution models.
  • Shape the data product lifecycle.
  • Ensure platform compliance with internal and external security and regulatory standards.
  • Champion performance benchmarking, load testing, and resilience engineering practices.
  • Define and prioritize NFRs such as availability, latency, throughput, fault tolerance, disaster recovery, security, compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet Experian\'s standards for data privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Technical Story Writing: Translate requirements into detailed user stories and technical specifications with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Agile Leadership: Lead sprint planning, backlog grooming, and daily stand-ups in partnership with Scrum Masters and Engineering Leads.
  • Translate high-level business needs into actionable platform capabilities, features, and roadmaps.
  • Experience delivering outcomes through agile methodologies.
  • Experience with data lifecycle concepts (ingestion, curation, cataloguing, access), and principles such as “data as a product” and federated data ownership.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and secure software development practices.

Qualifications

  • Experience product ownership or product management, preferably with operational platforms, data platforms, or cloud-based analytics environments (preferably AWS).
  • Experience delivering outcomes through agile methodologies.
  • Experience with data lifecycle concepts and federated data ownership.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and secure software development practices.
