Overview: Southern Water is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Water Asset Management team as a Technical Programme Planner. This newly created role is ideal for individuals with a passion for strategic planning, data analysis, and infrastructure development. You’ll contribute to shaping our 25-year water investment programme and support regulatory commitments.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Analyse data to prioritise work and guide investment decisions
• Monitor project progress and support suppliers with technical studies
• Ensure teams have access to the systems and resources they need
• Help build and refine our long-term business plans
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Support engineers in developing effective, sustainable solutions

You’ll Also Contribute To Strategic Planning By

• Promoting excellence in Health & Safety across planning activities
• Prioritising risk-based investments to meet programme targets
• Aligning investment options with business goals and outcomes
• Supporting workshops and decision-making processes
• Helping implement plans aligned with regulatory frameworks (e.g. WRMP, DWMP)
• Communicating investment programmes clearly to stakeholders
• Supporting cost-benefit analysis and whole-life costing

Who We’re Looking For

• Experience in heavily regulated environments, such as utilities
• Experience with data analysis
• Curiosity about infrastructure planning and asset management
• Problem-solving skills and collaborative approach
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• A desire to make a long-term impact on water services and sustainability

Package

• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
• Hybrid working between sites and home
• Salary starting from £32,700 per annum plus benefits including:
