Overview

As a Technical Sales Consultant with WJ Sunstone, you will be the key to our successful business development. Your primary responsibilities will include converting new leads into clients and nurturing existing relationships to foster long-term mutually beneficial partnerships. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional customer value and driving business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Diligently follow up on sales inquiries and leads to identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with both prospective and existing clients to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Collaborate effectively with technical, project/service delivery, finance/commercial, and senior management teams within WJ Group and client organizations.
  • Develop and prepare comprehensive proposals and quotations tailored to client needs and requirements.
  • Conduct thorough site surveys and requirements-gathering sessions to accurately assess client needs and expectations.
  • Design and propose innovative solutions that address client challenges and align with their business objectives.
  • Lead and navigate complex commercial negotiations to successfully close deals and secure new business.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline to effectively track and manage potential opportunities.
  • Provide reliable sales revenue forecasts to support strategic business planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience in IT, Manufacturing, System Integration or Managed Services Provisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal English.
  • Good presentation skills; ability to deliver sales presentations to potential customers and at trade shows.
  • A proven track record in Technical Sales is preferable.
  • MS Office skills across Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Strategic thinking with excellent organizational, problem-solving and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience, knowledge and passion working in customer-facing roles.
  • Confidence and ability to generate new business using a variety of sources.
  • Educated to degree level in a technical discipline (ideally electrical or computer technology) or equivalent through career experience.
  • A full clean UK driving licence.

Additional Information

Role ideally based from our site in Herne Bay with hybrid working options. Regular travel across the UK and possibly international travel may be required, including staying away from home. Regular meetings with the core team at the Herne Bay office will be necessary, so location should be commutable to the Herne Bay office.

We work across the Rail, Defence, Oil & Gas and Construction industries and you may be required to undertake relevant training and security clearances as required.
