Technical SEO Specialist/Manager

New Today

We are looking for a driven and knowledgeable Technical SEO professional who thrives on solving complex challenges and leading technical delivery across a diverse client portfolio. This role requires confidence in communicating with clients, external developers, and internal teams, and the ability to translate technical insight into clear, actionable strategies.

As part of our Organic Search team, you will take ownership of all technical delivery, ensuring that recommendations are prioritised, implemented, and measured effectively. You will be expected to lead technical audits, develop and execute implementation plans, and play a key role in shaping the technical direction of our clients’ SEO performance.

Working closely with account leads and strategy teams, you will contribute high-value insights to guide broader marketing strategies, aligning technical SEO with shared KPIs and delivering measurable improvements in organic growth. You will also support the sales process and mentor junior team members to ensure best practice is embedded across the agency.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical audits, clearly documenting issues with prioritised actions and overseeing implementation
  • Collaborate with Organic Strategy colleagues to actively shape and align SEO strategies with wider marketing plans
  • Own technical delivery plans across multiple clients, ensuring activity is prioritised by business impact
  • Manage clients resource, ensuring we are providing the best value for available budgets
  • Provide high-value insights, forecasts, and recommendations to inform strategy development
  • Oversee and quality-check technical implementations, from optimisation to monitoring
  • Manage new website migrations end-to-end, ensuring minimal disruption to organic performance
  • Act as a technical lead in client communications, explaining complex issues in accessible terms
  • Support the sales process with in-depth technical audits, opportunity analysis, and pitching where required
  • Proactively monitor technical health and identify opportunities for optimisation and innovation
  • Stay up to date with industry developments, driving cross-team training, knowledge-sharing, and thought leadership
  • Develop and maintain setups across GA4, GTM, and GSC to ensure accurate tracking and reporting
  • Mentor and support junior SEO team members, raising overall technical capability across the agency

Requirements

  • 4-5+ years’ hands-on Technical SEO experience (agency experience strongly preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead technical delivery across multiple client campaigns
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with a track record of defining and delivering solutions
  • Strong on-site tactical knowledge, including rendering, crawl optimisation, site architecture, and structured data
  • Advanced use of SEO tools (e.g. Screaming Frog, GSC, Semrush, Ahrefs, GTM, Sistrix, PageSpeed tools, Looker Studio)
  • Advanced knowledge of GA4 (experience with events, funnels, and advanced reporting strongly preferred)
  • Confidently manage best-practice tagging and tracking setups across GA4, GTM, and related platforms
  • Experience presenting technical recommendations to clients and influencing stakeholders
  • Familiarity with project management platforms (Jira or similar)
  • Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced team members
