Are you a technically astute leader ready to shape the future of building performance across one of the most dynamic commercial portfolios in London?
We're recruiting for a Technical Services Manager to take ownership of engineering excellence, compliance, and innovation across a high-profile portfolio of commercial buildings in Central London and the South East. This hybrid role offers the flexibility to work between client sites, home, and a central London office hub.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead Technical Excellence: Act as the technical authority across the portfolio, ensuring buildings operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with FM, Building Consultancy, and Sustainability teams to deliver joined-up solutions that enhance occupier experience and asset value.
Drive Compliance & Risk Management: Conduct technical audits, site inspections, and ensure contractor performance aligns with KPIs and statutory obligations.
Support Projects & Fit-Outs: Provide technical input on landlord and tenant works, including plant upgrades, insurance works, and minor refurbishments.
Champion ESG & Innovation: Review energy data, support net-zero initiatives, and advise on smart building technologies and IoT integration.
Client-Facing Reporting: Deliver clear, insightful technical reports and updates to clients and stakeholders, translating complex engineering issues into actionable insights.
Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a small technical team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Experience: 2-4 years in technical services or FM, ideally within premium commercial office environments in London.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building services, M&E systems, and landlord-side fit-out works.
Compliance Expertise: Solid grasp of H&S legislation including COSHH, L8, LOLER, PUWER, CDM, and more.
Qualifications: Engineering qualification (mechanical or electrical) preferred. Professional memberships such as IWFM, NEBOSH, or IOSH are a plus.
Communication Skills: Confident engaging with clients, occupiers, contractors, and internal teams—able to influence and lead with credibility.
Mindset: Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure.
