Overview
As part of the CAF Rail UK Training & Competence team, the Technical Training Lead will develop and deliver comprehensive technical training packages in support of all CAF UK fleets. The role focuses on creating a technical training library, conducting skills analysis across technical teams, developing cross-system e‑learning, and responding to emerging trends and incidents in product and people development.
Responsibilities
• Create and deliver detailed training packages in response to customer requirements while adhering to regulatory standards and industry codes of practice.
• Maintain the integrity of the ROGS compliance and support risk management and safety performance activities.
• Conduct vehicle familiarisation, in‑depth systems training, maintenance and overhaul procedures, and enhance the skills and knowledge of operational teams across all UK projects.
• Assist CAF Rail UK in maintaining the integrity of its ROGS compliance.
Qualifications
Level 3 qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering.
Level 4 Training delivery qualification (e.g. CTLLS) or Level 3 with sufficient experience.
Experience of instructional design and proficiency with digital authoring tools.
Proven experience delivering technical training within the rail or relevant industry.
Strong understanding of train systems (traction, braking, signalling, control systems).
Working knowledge of applicable industry standards.
Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
Familiarity with competence‑based training and assessment frameworks.
Salary
Real Living Wage Employer – £43,000 to £46,000 per annum.
