The company

Imagine a world where every small business has the power to thrive. That's the world we're building at iwoca. Small businesses aren't just statistics – they're the heartbeat of our communities, the character of our high streets, and the engine of our economy. Since 2012, we've revolutionised how these businesses access finance, turning what was once a lengthy, frustrating process into something remarkable: funding that's fast, flexible, and actually works for modern businesses.

Our impact speaks for itself: we've provided billions in funding to more than 150,000 businesses across Europe, making us one of the continent's leading fintech innovators. But we're just getting started. Our mission? To empower one million businesses with the financial tools they deserve.

We combine cutting-edge technology and data science with genuine human understanding to make finance feel less like a barrier and more like a superpower. Whether a business is managing cash flow or seizing unexpected opportunities, we ensure they get the funds they need – often within minutes.

The team

The Knowledge Management team maintains iwoca’s internal documentation, which is primarily used by developers, analysts, and product managers, but also relied on by the wider company. The team looks after a docs-as-code project that’s three years old, growing steadily, and supported by senior management. There are already two technical writers—you’d be the third.

iwoca’s technical writers are part of the Core Systems team, which provides the tools, infrastructure, and shared services that our product-focused development teams rely on.

There are ten more engineers in the Core Systems team (working in groups that focus on DevOps, data systems, systems architecture). Most of us work remotely, but we attend a (virtual) daily meeting, enjoy quarterly team meals in London, and socialise with each other at company parties twice a year.

The role

As a technical writer on the Knowledge Management team, you will create and curate the internal documentation that supports iwoca’s engineering and product development. iwoca is growing fast and launching new products. That means more readers, more systems to document, and more legacy content to renew as we integrate those new systems.
