Salary: £61-77K (plus up to 15% bonus and single healthcare cover)

Working within ScottishPower’s Corporate business, the Technology Consultant will contribute to the design, deployment, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning of IT assets. This position involves delivering plans that ensure the acceptance, implementation, maintenance, and decommissioning of specific hardware or software assets, supporting the broader architectural vision across the Iberdrola Group.
What you’ll be doing
As an ambassador for Digital Transformation, you’ll manage and deal with change, be comfortable with ambiguity, and excel at building relationships, engendering trust and confidence. Although there is no specific line management responsibility, you’ll have significant influencing responsibilities across the Global team, Digital Transformation, particularly with senior members of the IT teams.
Your role will influence application solutions and supporting toolsets, establishing and relationships within the Digital Transformation with business stakeholders. A key part of this role focuses on compliance and retaining up to date technology knowledge, demonstrating this through contributions to seminars and conferences, including delivering presentations.
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an individual with extensive cross-platform knowledge, particularly in Networks and Communications, covering telecommunications-related technologies. This includes voice and data communications, LAN/WAN, Data Centre, Network Security, remote access, and voice. Knowledge of other infrastructure technologies is beneficial. With Iberdrola’s Cloud First approach, candidates should understand both on-prem technologies and virtual deployments within AWS and Azure.
Experience such as Cisco, Fortigate, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Citrix, Radware, Oracle SBC, Infoblox, and Zscaler would be ideal to have in this role.
Knowledge of specialist telecommunications areas, including Contact Centre, SCADA, and Internet environments, is beneficial. You should have good technology solutions design experience in Enterprise Data Center, SDN, SD-WAN, and Cloud Connectivity, and an understanding of network automation, tooling, and development using tools and scripting such as Ansible and Python.
