Join to apply for the Test Automation Engineer (Word Add-In) role at Definely
The role
We’re looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer with strong expertise in both manual and automated testing to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of Definely’s innovative LegalTech products.
In this role, you’ll take the lead in fully automating our Microsoft Word Add-In across both Windows and OfficeJS (web-based), as well as our standalone Windows application. This includes testing AI-powered features that help legal professionals draft, review, and execute contracts with greater speed and accuracy.
Our customers rely on Definely for accuracy, trust, and seamless workflows, and you’ll be a key player in maintaining these high standards while scaling our testing capabilities across multiple platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain a deep understanding of Definely’s products and business use cases, designing comprehensive test strategies, plans, and scripts for maximum coverage.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test suites in C# for both AI-powered and non-AI services.
- Perform end-to-end testing across the Microsoft Word Add-In (Windows and OfficeJS) and our standalone Windows application, covering acceptance, integration, UI/UX, performance, security, smoke, and regression testing.
- Design and execute automation for the OfficeJS version of the Word Add-In and the standalone Windows application, ensuring feature consistency, reliability, and a seamless user experience across desktop and web environments.
- Create and maintain clear test documentation, ensuring traceability and reproducibility for all tests.
- Identify, log, and track defects with detailed reports, collaborating with developers to improve software stability and user experience.
- Actively participate in code reviews and QA process improvements, advocating for best practices and continuous quality enhancements.
- Continuously improve testing coverage and efficiency by introducing new tools, frameworks, and AI-assisted testing techniques (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code).
- Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, developers, and QA engineers to align on quality goals and deliverables.
About You
- 5+ years of professional, product focused testing experience (manual and automation) for desktop and/or web applications, including API and end-to-end testing expertise.
- Proficient in C# for building, maintaining, and executing automated test suites.
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience mapping test strategies to requirements, creating detailed test plans, preparing test data, and executing tests efficiently.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted tooling (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) to improve testing speed and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail).
- Solid understanding of relational and/or non-relational databases.
- Comfortable working with agile development practices such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong grasp of Git, version control best practices, and CI/CD workflows.
- Familiarity with tools and platforms like Postman, Linear, Notion, and GitHub as well as cloud environments like Microsoft Azure and AWS.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working closely with developers and cross-functional teams.
- A self-starter who takes ownership, enjoys learning and sharing knowledge, and has a practical, down-to-earth approach.
- Experience testing AI/LLM-based solutions, including model accuracy, correctness, and performance validation.
- Experience with Power Automate, MSTest, Cypress, and Playwright.
- Familiarity with Azure OpenAI Service, AWS Bedrock, or similar AI platforms.
- Experience testing OfficeJS applications or add-ins.
- Background in the LegalTech domain or other highly regulated industries.
- QA certifications (e.g., ISTQB) or other relevant software testing certifications.
