Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Test Automation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining automated testing solutions that ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and reliable software. This role requires a strong technical background in test engineering, excellent collaboration skills, and a proven ability to work in fast-paced Agile environments.
Responsibilities
- Build and deliver comprehensive, robust, and reliable automated test frameworks and automation suites to achieve full coverage of business requirements.
- Design, build, and maintain an effective and scalable test infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation within the test automation code base.
- Collaborate and share knowledge with other teams to improve testing practices, tools, and processes.
- Apply Agile principles and work effectively within a multi-disciplinary Agile team.
- Review requirements and specifications to define test conditions, identify risks, and provide feedback.
- Analyse and report test activities and results to support informed decision-making.
- Design and execute non-functional test cases (e.g. performance, security, accessibility) using standard testing techniques.
- Create business scenarios in partnership with stakeholders to validate feature functionality.
- Apply core technical concepts effectively within the role.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of test engineering best practices.
- Experience with functional and non-functional testing (performance, security, accessibility, etc.).
- Skilled in systems integration testing and microservices/API testing.
- Hands-on experience with security testing and understanding of associated risks.
- Proficiency in performance testing methodologies and tools.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain automated test suites.
- Experience with test infrastructure tools such as Docker and containerisation.
- Strong understanding of TDD and BDD principles.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation in build and deployment workflows.
- Strong Java (11/17/21) development experience and knowledge of the Spring Boot framework.
- Experience with test frameworks such as Cucumber, REST Assured, and WireMock.
- Hands-on knowledge of front-end testing frameworks such as Selenium.
- Experience in accessibility testing in line with WCAG standards.
- SC Security Clearance (or eligibility) required to access production logs.
