Test Engineer – IDAM with SC Clearance required. Mostly remote with travel once or twice a month to London (expenses covered).

About the Role: Amber Labs is a data and digital transformation consultancy delivering secure, scalable solutions for government, finance, and enterprise sectors. We’re growing fast and are seeking a Test Engineer with current hands-on IDAM experience to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Validate authentication and authorization workflows across diverse systems
• Conduct functional, regression, and integration testing on security components
• Collaborate with developers, security architects, and ops teams to ensure IDAM solutions meet reliability, scalability, and compliance benchmarks
• Test access governance processes including RBAC, entitlement reviews, and user lifecycle management
• Verify implementations against compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, SOX)
• Identify gaps in identity and access controls and drive remediation with engineering teams
• Document test results, produce quality reports, and contribute to evolving best practices in security testing

Qualifications

• Proven experience testing IDAM solutions in enterprise environments
• Strong understanding of identity protocols (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect)
• Familiarity with tools like Okta, ForgeRock, Azure AD, Ping Identity, or similar
• Hands-on experience with security testing frameworks and automation tools
• Deep knowledge of compliance and governance standards
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• A collaborative mindset and a passion for secure, scalable systems
