Role Overview

As Therapy Development Director, Coronary Therapies EMEA, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Boston Scientific’s leadership in interventional cardiology. You will spearhead the Modern PCI strategy across EMEA, driving double-digit growth, accelerating therapy adoption, and positioning the company as the category leader. This highly visible role sits on the EMEA Coronary Therapies Leadership Team and works in close partnership with global business leaders. You will have direct responsibility for defining and executing commercial strategies for our Modern PCI portfolio, future portfolio and therapy expansion (Renal Denervation & Interventional Heart Failure). You will be building strong partnerships with leading physicians in Coronary Therapies, clinical experts in Modern PCI, and health systems. With accountability for both strategic direction and commercial performance, this role offers an opportunity to influence regional outcomes and Boston Scientific’s global interventional cardiology franchise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy & Execution: Define and execute regional commercial strategies to accelerate growth and market leadership in Modern PCI; own commercial outcomes with accountability for top-line revenue, therapy adoption, and category share gains; partner with local and regional leadership, cluster directors and business unit managers on planning, performance reviews, and field support activities; design and implement regional strategies reflecting market dynamics; drive go-to-market evolution and sales organization transformation; accelerate therapy adoption and optimize revenue performance across the Coronary Therapies portfolio; act as a key voice from EMEA into global franchise strategy forums.
  • Market Development & Clinical Engagement: Build and maintain strategic relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and clinical influencers; shape clinical strategy and identify centers and advisors for studies and therapy validation; partner with upstream marketing, medical affairs and market access to optimize reimbursement and market access strategies; champion Direct-to-Physician and Direct-to-Refer tactics in collaboration with marketing and omnichannel teams.
  • Training Leadership: Oversee development of training programs in collaboration with the Commercial Excellence, Marketing and Medical Education Team tailored to Modern PCI therapies and new technologies; drive comprehensive training programs to build Modern PCI competencies across EMEA sales teams and support portfolio expansions (Renal Denervation & Interventional Heart Failure).
  • Team & People Development: Lead and inspire a high-performing therapy development team across EMEA; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and clinical excellence; support regional leaders in building competencies and executing local strategies; lead in matrix with Local Team and drive field-based team to build therapy competencies and selling skills; lead the Complex PCI Clinical Council focusing on professional development, motivation, and performance management; champion the use of proven tools and methodologies to accelerate therapy and technology adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven sales leadership experience with extensive exposure to interventional cardiology or related cardiovascular therapies.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic sales, market development, or business unit leadership roles.
  • Track record of cross-border leadership, new technology launches, and therapy adoption acceleration.
  • Strong strategic thinker with analytical, problem-solving, and execution capabilities.
  • Exceptional communicator with ability to influence senior stakeholders, physicians, and commercial teams.
  • Proven ability to lead collaboratively and influence effectively within complex matrix structures and cross-functional teams.
  • Fluent in English; additional proficiency in French, German, Italian, or Spanish is highly desirable.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across EMEA.
  • Direct experience with PCI and emerging cardiovascular therapies (e.g., Interventional HF, Renal Denervation).
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree (MSc) in a technical, clinical, or business-related discipline is preferred.
