OverviewTown Planning & Consents Lead (Associate Director to Director Levels) (Infrastructure Planning) - Major ProjectsJoin to apply for the Town Planning & Consents Lead role at WSP in the UK & Ireland. The successful candidate will lead consenting inputs on major and nationally significant infrastructure projects, with demonstrable experience in securing approvals under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, the Planning Act 2008, and related regimes.What you will be doingLead consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs, etc.).Provide technical advice to clients and manage their consenting requirements.Coordinate the preparation and submission of consent applications under the relevant Town and Country Planning Acts, the Planning Act 2008, or other regimes as listed.Act as Project Director for projects led and managed by the Infrastructure Planning and Engagement business.Lead complex negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.Act as Planning Expert Witness at DCO examinations or other hearings or inquiries.Support the Service Line Director and Sector Leads to pursue new work opportunities and contribute to sector leadership where appropriate.Line management and mentoring of colleagues to support project delivery.What we are looking forDegree level qualification in town planning (or equivalent).Member of (or eligible for) the RTPI.Strong understanding of project finances.Sound project management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment.What we offerWork-life balance and hybrid working policy with flexibility to work from home two days a week and access to modern offices across the UK.
