LOCATION: York, UK (YO41 1LZ) or Manchester, UK (M17 1PA). This is a full-time contract role with hybrid working options.
Job Purpose and Impact
The Trade Compliance Operations Analyst supports the execution of routine global trade compliance operations activities and assists trade compliance projects. Under close supervision, this role performs basic global trade and compliance transactions, ensures compliance, and helps drive continuous improvement in support of the business strategy and objectives.

Key Accountabilities
- OPERATIONAL EXECUTION: Assists with routine global trade and compliance operations activities within a country or region in support of business goals, including execution of global trade and compliance transactions aligned to business strategy and objectives, and validation of import and export transactional data and document requirements to complete cross border filings and clearance.
- TRANSACTION AUDITING: Supports regular audits and assessments of trade transactions to ensure compliance with regulations, customs requirements and trade agreements.
- DOCUMENTATION REVIEW: Analyzes and ensures trade documents (invoices, preferential trade documentation, shipping documents, export licenses and other cross border documents) are accurate, complete and compliant, and maintains records according to guidelines.
- RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT: Interacts with internal and external collaborators and partners to assist the implementation of cross border trade solutions.
- METRICS ANALYSIS: Supports analysis of key performance indicators and performs basic analysis for compliance operations in the designated location to support process effectiveness.
- CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Assists with the execution of internal global trade and compliance projects to support operational process or policy improvements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Fluency in English – written and spoken
- Secondary or higher education
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
- Customs Administration
- Knowledge of customs regimes and incoterms
- Knowledge of Excise management is useful
- Experience in Supply Chain is useful
- Experience in SAP and GTS or similar systems
- Experience in Open Text or similar
- Interfacing with Customs Brokers is useful
- Ability to develop business acumen incorporating trade compliance solutions
