Base pay range Direct message the job poster from ETRA Talent Location: London Type: Permanent A leading global financial services organisation is seeking a Trade Surveillance Analyst to join its London-based Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with trade and e‑communications surveillance experience who is looking to further develop their skills within a fast‑paced, regulated environment. About the Role In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the firm meets its regulatory obligations across multiple markets. You’ll be responsible for monitoring communications, reviewing trading activity, and supporting the Compliance function with investigations, reporting, and controls enhancement. Key Responsibilities
Monitor broker communications (voice, email, chat) for potential misconduct Conduct trade reconstructions and investigations Identify and elevate possible regulatory or exchange rule breaches Investigate incidents relating to insider dealing, market manipulation (incl. wash trades), and policy breaches Prepare reports for weekly Compliance meetings and quarterly Board reports Support responses to regulatory and exchange queries Assist in preparing the Market Abuse Risk Assessment
Systems & Controls
Support implementation or upgrades of surveillance systems Identify and remediate systems or control weaknesses Collaborate with IT to ensure control checks are followed Assess the effectiveness of existing policies and procedures Handle additional compliance‑related tasks as required
What We’re Looking For
1+ year of experience in trade surveillance or a similar Compliance role (within a brokerage, investment firm, or bank) Strong integrity, attention to detail, and professional judgement Highly organised with excellent numeracy and analytical skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to build strong working relationships across teams Proactive, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure Strong IT proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn new systems
