We are seeking a capable and highly experienced Training Consultant to work closely with our defence customers in the UK and overseas. You will join our Defence Services organisation in Farnborough, and become part of a professional team of customer-focused technical experts, supporting the uptake of our market-leading defence software.
The job: Delivering solutions to support critical decision-making on the battlefield
As a Training Consultant for our C4I software SitaWare, you will train military units and advise customers on how to derive the greatest possible value from our software. Become part of our Defence Services team and support the British Army and other European armed forces to exploit innovative command and control information systems.
Your responsibilities
Your key tasks will include:
- Planning, preparing and delivering training and support to military users – from workplace training to operational classroom training
- Tailoring training course delivery for a wide range of users, ranks and appointments (officers and soldiers)
- Conducting train-the-trainer courses for military instructors
- Creating and maintaining high-quality training material including training plans
- Conducting needs assessments and preparing final reports
- Advising on best practices and assisting with SOP and doctrine digitisation
- Providing feedback to our software development team for product improvement
- Supporting sales opportunities and providing estimates for bids
- Preparing, deploying, troubleshooting and maintaining training systems
Your team
Your team: Defence Services in Farnborough
Based in Farnborough, Hampshire, you will be part of our UK Defence Services team, reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager. The role offers variety and scope, with domestic and occasional international travel to customer sites as well as visits to our headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark. We support a hybrid working model, giving you the flexibility to balance time in the office with working from home.
You bring: Training capability and defence experience
You have extensive experience in military planning, serving in staff roles at Brigade or higher headquarters, combined with proven expertise as a trainer, ideally in a technical or military environment. With qualifications in adult education or equivalent military certification, you have successfully delivered training in both technical and military environments.
We are also looking for
- subject matter knowledge in military C2 and battle management systems, with particular proficiency in the SitaWare suite and operational/tactical networks
- in-depth understanding of NATO and British Army staff planning processes, ensuring effective integration and operational success
- exceptional communication skills and the ability to adjust training delivery to match the audience
- fluency in English, both written and spoken, with outstanding presentation and interpersonal skills.
Ideally, you also bring
- Degree-level education.
- Practical experience managing C4ISR systems and small-scale networks.
