Overview
Transaction Reporting Business Analyst role at EPAM Systems. This position is a permanent, hybrid role with a focus on regulatory reporting knowledge within financial services.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with business partners, project, and program stakeholders to analyze and refine the regulatory requirements provided by Federal authorities and DTCC
- Prepare detailed BRDs (Business Requirement Documents) and FRDs (Functional Requirement Documents) for various technology teams
- Translate and simplify the business/functional requirements into technical requirements and create user stories for the development team to understand and implement in code
- Perform gap and feasibility analyses, recommend alternative solutions, project strategies, and deliverable prioritizations
- Prepare detailed use cases, functional scenarios, and specifications by example
- Work closely with developers and operations teams to answer all questions and queries regarding the regulatory requirements
- Identify gaps in the software system from a regulatory perspective and raise requirements with product owners
- Provide support to the product owner team to guide the tech impact, story pointing, prioritization, and planning of all requirements
- Work closely with the QA team to support BDD and functional testing as required; review feature files with developers written as part of dev acceptance testing, ensuring they cover functional acceptance criteria and edge cases
- Provide support to the UAT team for end-to-end testing by providing sample test cases, use cases, and actual vs. expected behavior
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in a regulatory reporting or financial services domain
- Knowledge of global regulatory reporting frameworks including DTCC and Federal agency requirements
- Skills in creating detailed BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and gap analysis
- Expertise in business analysis techniques such as feasibility studies, use case creation, and scenario planning
- Proficiency in agile methodologies and tools used in backlog management
- Familiarity with BDD principles and QA processes, including writing or reviewing feature files
- Capability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including product owners, developers, and QA
- Understanding of SQL, Excel, and database querying to analyze data quality and reporting requirements
Nice to have
- Background in Derivatives Trade Reporting or Transaction Reporting within capital markets
- Showcase of experience with tools like JIRA or Confluence
- Familiarity with ISO 20022 message standards
