We need the best people to help us achieve our potential and redefine what our industry looks like and what you want from your career.RoleOur Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) Tax team is structured to provide the full spectrum of tax services to private equity across funds, deals and portfolio companies on a wide scope of transactional work both domestically and internationally. We are leading advisers to mid-market private equity firms and large acquisitive corporates with deal values from a few million to over a billion. We support clients throughout the entire deal lifecycle, from initial proposals and offer terms, undertaking due diligence and advice on the acquisition structure through to completion and post-deal advice.We work with businesses across sectors from technology and gaming to care homes, art galleries, travel and retail. This is a fast-moving and exciting environment. It is technically led with a focus on service, so this role will involve technical tax application, extensive client interaction and strong interpersonal and organisational skills. TAS Tax is a small, tightly-knit team with strong growth; you will have opportunities to take on responsibility and develop as the team expands. We’re open to flexible working arrangements and will support you to balance work, study and life when possible.What the role involvesAs Associate Director in the TAS Tax team, you will provide tax structuring advice and undertake tax due diligence on buy-side and sell-side transactions for private equity and corporate clients. You may also have the opportunity to work on public company transactions, primarily on AIM and the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange. Here are some things you can expect from a role in TAS Tax:Lead discussions with and present findings to clients and legal advisers, and manage relationships with the target’s management team.Lead collaboration with FDD and SPA Advisory teams to ensure work aligns with theirs.Lead due diligence meetings with the target business, oversee analysis and review reports to ensure accuracy before final review by the partner/director.Prepare and review structuring reports based on proposed acquisition structure, considering key tax implications in line with commercial requirements.Involve yourself in all aspects of the transaction, including reviewing forecast models and funds flows and considering legal documentation with the support of the team.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive opportunities across TAS, Corporate Finance and GT’s international member firms.Work with external contacts within private equity funds, corporate clients, law firms and intermediaries to drive business development.Participate in business development, researching and preparing proposals to win new work and contributing to client presentations.Manage project budgets, ensure timely invoicing and debt collection, and keep debtors to a minimum.Produce well-supported technical research using legislation, tax authority guidance and firm resources.Contribute to ongoing training and development of the team.Knowing you’re right for usThe ideal candidate will be a qualified chartered accountant or tax adviser (ACA, CA, CTA, ADIT or equivalent) with a solid grounding in UK tax practices.
