An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Traveline Coordinator to join our Passenger Transport team at Hampshire County Council.
The Role:
The provision of quality public transport information is embedded within the Hampshire Bus Strategy and essential for achieving our vision of doubling the number of bus passenger journeys made in Hampshire by the end of 2034/35.
Based within the Passenger Transport Team, your role will be to work with local bus operators to ensure accurate and timely data is shared and to input all timetable data into the National Public Transport Information (Traveline South West) on behalf of the Hampshire Consortium members to provide reliable journey planning information for travelers.
What you’ll do:
- Work closely with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, demonstrating effective communication, interpersonal skills, and teamworking abilities.
- Prepare, monitor, and supply data according to the NPTI update Protocol and DfT requirements, including timetable preparation, driver and vehicle allocations, stop details, unique referencing (NaPTAN and SMS), and route information.
- Organize the verification of data supplied to Traveline South West and Bus Open Data Service (BODS).
- Collaborate with the Information Systems Officer on stop names or locations and assist with maintaining stop datasets as per DfT standards.
- Manage travel disruption information via the Incident Capture System (ICS) or Event Management System modules.
- Prepare, monitor, and input data into the DIVA system, including timetable data, driver and vehicle links, stop details, referencing, and route information.
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual with a background in administration and data handling, and a basic understanding of the transport industry.
The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently, excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the capacity to multitask and meet deadlines.
We offer a comprehensive induction program, training, and a benefits package including holiday entitlement, pension scheme, flexi-time, family-friendly policies, and interest-free travel loans and discounts. Our workplace is flexible, inclusive, and supportive, fostering growth and development.
If you believe you can make a difference in Hampshire, we encourage you to apply!
