UI/UX Subject Matter Expert

Daily Rate Inside IR35 Location: London Job Type: Contract (until end of March 2026), Hybrid (2 days a week in office)

We are seeking a UI/UX Subject Matter Expert to lead the strategic direction of user experience and interface design across a multi-system environment. This pivotal role focuses on shaping how complex operational data is presented in a simple, intuitive way to end users, optimising a unified UI for Decision Optimisation (DO). Day-to-day of the role

Serve as the primary expert on UI/UX strategy, design systems, and user-centred design principles. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement a unified UI that integrates multiple backend systems. Translate complex data and workflows into simple, elegant user interfaces. Provide hands‑on design support where necessary, including wireframes, prototypes, and visual design assets. Evaluate and improve existing interfaces based on user feedback, analytics, and usability testing. Advocate for accessibility, responsive design, and consistency across platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Proven experience in UI/UX design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating both strategic and hands‑on capabilities. Expertise in design systems, interaction design, and information architecture. Familiarity with tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar. Experience working in complex environments with multiple systems and data sources. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to balance strategic thinking with practical execution. Desirable: Experience in operational or logistics environments, knowledge of Decision Optimisation or similar analytical platforms, and familiarity with front‑end development principles (HTML/CSS/JS).
