UK COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Overview

Havas Media Network UK is one of the largest media agencies in the advertising industry. Since 2020, we have doubled our headcount to around 1000 people across London, Manchester, Leeds, and Edinburgh, serving over 400 clients. A leading industry magazine has labeled us one of eight key media agencies to watch in 2025.

We are recruiting a communications manager to join our growing UK PR team. Working closely with another communications manager and the wider growth team, you will report to HMN UK’s head of communications.

You will play a key role in driving the reputational and commercial growth of HMN. Your responsibilities will include PR planning & execution, media relations, copywriting, crisis communications, social media, press releases, and award submissions.

This role offers a clear pathway for development within a vibrant culture and a generous employment package. We currently work three days in the office—this is a hybrid role, not remote. The position starts on 1 January 2026.

What are we looking for?

We seek someone with the ambition and drive to excel. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, can-do attitude and a point of view. They will be a natural storyteller and PR planner, comfortable with building relationships and crafting thoughtful copy.

Essentials:

• 3+ years’ experience in PR or in-house communications, ideally within an advertising or PR agency.
• Excellent writing and editing skills, adaptable to different channels and platforms.
• A strong eye for storytelling that aligns with long-term PR strategies.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and see actions through to completion, including stakeholder management.

Nice-to-haves:

• Knowledge of social media platforms and their effective use.
• Existing journalist relationships or interest in advertising/creative sectors.
• Basic design skills (not necessary, as design team members are available).

What does all of that mean in practice?

• Manage communications for your agencies, including news announcements, thought leadership, profile-raising, and internal communications.
• Develop communication strategies, messaging, KPIs, and plans.
• Work with agency leadership on narratives and relationship building.
• Maintain a PR pipeline, handle media inquiries, and secure speaking opportunities.
• Support award entries and content sharing across channels.
• Assist with internal and external communication materials.
• Collaborate with marketing and growth teams to align efforts.
• Report on reputation growth and success metrics.
