We’re looking for an exceptional UKCI Projections Scientistto help us make a difference to our planet.

As our UKCI Projections Scientist, the job may be suitable for hybrid working, which is where an employee works part of the week in the office and part of the week from home.This is a voluntary, non-contractual arrangement and the location advertised will be your contractual place of work.

Our opportunity is full time, 37 hours per week. We can support part-time working to a minimum of 33 hours per week.Our people are at the heart of what we do, and we'll do our best to agree a working pattern that works for everyone.

Your world of expertise

You will contribute to design and production of new probabilistic climate projections, under the UK Climate Information (UKCI) programme.You will update and extend a statistical framework that allows climate model projections to be combined with observations, accounting for climate model performance, physical drivers of regional climate change and natural climate variability.Your research will support a well-adapted future for the UK, by providing a range of future projections that help users avoid overconfident decision - making .
