Role Summary
The main objective of this role is to support store management team in achieving a store environment that fosters creativity, employee development and the VIBE philosophy. To uphold the Urban Outfitters “Peers Training Peers” philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, motivate, develop and lead a team
  • Manage performance development within the department (Performance Appraisals, Individual Development Plans, Coaching and Counseling, and Disciplinary actions)
  • Recognise and develop talented individuals for advancement within the organisation
  • Uphold Company standards and act as a positive role model
  • Model the way by inspiring, motivating and encouraging teamwork
  • Conduct productive daily meetings to ensure goals are met
  • Delegate projects while enabling others creativity and decision-making
  • Maintain excellent communication in written and verbal form
  • Oversee customer service by setting daily goals and expectations to create a positive store environment
  • Train and coach the team on customer service, standards, product placement and time management
  • Aim for Company-average mystery shop results by upholding customer service standards
  • Perform store-level operational procedures accurately and timely in line with Company policies
  • Support loss prevention and stock control to achieve stock loss goals
  • Uphold Health & Safety regulations to protect employees and customers
  • Collaborate with the Department Manager or Visual Merchandising Manager on training, shipments, markdowns, transfers, merchandising and store standards
  • Interpret fashion trends in local markets to generate creative solutions
  • Ensure floor sets are well organized and scheduled
  • Maximise departmental sales through management of merchandise from receipt to sale
  • Utilise Company reports to react to trends and drive business
  • Stay informed on trends and customer profiles by engaging with external sources
  • Manage stock levels by understanding reports and market trends
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills to achieve and exceed store targets

What You'll Need

  • Experience in a management role in a fast-paced, high-volume fashion retail environment
  • Strong operational skills
  • Understanding of the Urban Outfitters culture and its appeal to the local market
  • Ability to drive sales through excellent service, strong visual presentation, and business understanding
