The role involves US/UK tax compliance and advisory work with a focus on high-net-worth clients, under supervision of a line manager.

Responsibilities

  • You will be preparing US and UK tax returns based on client data provided in various formats under the overall support of a line manager.
  • Develop an understanding of the tax return preparation processes and manage your workload.
  • Sense-check the client’s position and discuss reasons for a payment due, nil liability or a repayment with the reviewer.
  • Work with clients to prevent double taxation, including foreign tax credits on US and UK returns.
  • Identify and understand tax filing requirements and the implications of US ownership of non-US entities and vice versa.
  • Review straightforward tax returns.
  • Self-review your work before passing it to a manager for review, ensuring numbers align with the returns.
  • List the items of information needed to complete a tax return, identify missing information, and flag potential tax issues for managers.
