Location: Midlands area preferred (Northampton, Leicester or Milton Keynes) with flexible working, including remote options in right circumstances. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Salary: £40,000 - £70,000 depending on experience. Holiday: 26 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays).

About The Role

We are TC Group, a top 20 UK accountancy firm and one of the fastest-growing top 40 firms. We provide bespoke support and advice to ambitious business owners. We are looking for experienced VAT professionals to join our VAT team in the Midlands area. The role is predominantly advisory, with opportunities to influence how we work and develop business relationships. There is potential for progression if desired.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with clients and the firm’s partner group to develop and maintain strong client relationships
• Investigate and research technical VAT issues
• Write and communicate clear and practical VAT advice, avoiding unnecessary technical language

Mentoring and guidance will be provided.

About You / Requirements

• Several years of experience in a VAT role, ideally in an accountancy practice
• Strong technical ability, attention to detail and an enquiring mind
• Process-oriented, commercially minded, loves a challenge
• Ability to analyse queries, identify core issues, and research complex technical topics
• Experience advising across numerous business sectors
• Team player with the ability to build strong working relationships
• Ability to prioritise and work under pressure to meet deadlines
• Ability to explain complex issues to non-VAT experts
• Willing to work hard; commercial and entrepreneurial skills are an advantage
