Overview
Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking for a role where you can truly make a difference, grow your skills, and feel part of a close-knit team? At Amical Veterinary Centre, we’ve proudly supported our community for over 30 years and we’re now looking for a compassionate vet to join our warm, dedicated team.
A Supportive Team with a Shared Passion
At Amical, you’ll be working alongside a dedicated and experienced team, including two talented Veterinary Surgeons with special interests in cardiology, imaging, and neurology. We offer multiple surgical slots each week, with the opportunity for full surgical days, making this a great role if you’re looking to build your surgical experience in a supportive and well-equipped setting. You’ll also benefit from trusted partnerships with nearby out-of-hours hospitals and referral centres, giving you the confidence and flexibility to manage cases effectively.
Our Registered Veterinary Nurses are a vital part of our practice and run their own consultations in dedicated rooms, helping to provide exceptional care for both clients and patients while giving you the space to focus on your own clinical work.
Growth and Development
Your professional development matters to us. Whether you’d like to deepen your expertise in a particular area, gain new skills, or explore a certificate, we’ll support you in developing your clinical interests in a way that complements and strengthens our team.
Facilities Designed for Excellence
Our modern facilities are designed with both efficiency and comfort in mind. The practice features a spacious waiting area and open-plan dispensary, a fully equipped in-house IDEXX laboratory, a large digital X-ray room with a separate viewing area, and an open-space prep and recovery zone. We also have a dedicated theatre fitted with a heated table, multiparameter monitoring, and a crash trolley, as well as a large multiprobe ultrasound and a fully equipped dental suite. Every space is designed to support best-practice care and help you work at your best.
Proud to Support Our Community
Community is at the heart of what we do. Over the years, we’ve worked closely with organisations such as Merrylegs, the RSPCA, and Cats Protection, helping animals in need and supporting local welfare initiatives. Joining Amical means not only caring for pets and clients but also making a meaningful difference in the wider community.
Rota Pattern
We offer flexible working patterns that flex with you and your lifestyle. Whether you are looking to flex your rota hours to balance the school holidays, fix to navigate the school runs or just looking to strike that balance between home and work life, we can offer flexibility that actually works for you. Working up to 40 hours per week the rota currently involves working Monday-Friday 9:00am-6:00pm with no out of hours or weekends.
