Overview
Shape Your Future with Laurels Vets. Looking for clinical freedom, true flexibility, and real career development? At The Laurels Veterinary Group, we’ve built an environment where you can thrive both professionally and personally.
Set across two progressive small animal sites in the heart of the Wye Valley, our practice combines the charm of rural Herefordshire with the standards and equipment you’d expect from a forward‑thinking veterinary team. Both locations are fully kitted out with digital X‑ray, ultrasound, an in‑house lab, and laser therapy – giving you everything you need to deliver exceptional care.
You’ll join a team with clinical depth, including certificate holders in both medicine and surgery, and you’ll have the chance to get hands‑on with a varied caseload, including advanced orthopaedic procedures such as TPLOs performed in‑house. When a case benefits from external input, we’ve got a trusted local referral network to collaborate with.
Most importantly, you’ll be stepping into a genuinely supportive culture – a tight‑knit team of 4 vets, 3 RVNs, 1 SVN and 6 dedicated support staff who value each other and take pride in doing things properly. Outside of work, you’re only a stone’s throw from the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, perfect for recharging in nature after a busy day. And with a rota designed to respect your life beyond the clinic, you’ll actually get the chance to enjoy it.
Team & Equipment
You’ll be joining an experienced team that includes certificate holders in both surgery and medicine, ensuring strong clinical collaboration and support. Our two sites are fully equipped with ultrasound, X‑ray, in‑house laboratory machines, laser therapy, and everything you need to deliver excellent small animal care.
Working Hours & Flexibility
Wherever you are in your career, we’re here to support you. We’re open to full‑time, part‑time, and flexible working arrangements, including job‑share options.
Full‑time typically means 4 x 10‑hour days plus 1 in 4 Saturdays, with no out‑of‑hours and only minimal inpatient care. You’ll work across both sites (12 miles apart), with a work vehicle provided for travel.
Expectations
In return, we ask that you are confident in small animal practice, enjoy working collaboratively, and are committed to delivering high‑quality patient care.
