Overview We have a great opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Alcombe Vets. The role can be shaped to suit your strengths, with a mix of consults and surgery available. We actively support case continuity and have the facilities to fully work up cases in-house. Our surgical caseload includes soft tissue surgeries such as gastrotomies, cystotomies, enterotomies, mass removals, pyometras, and ear procedures. We also perform endoscopic GI investigations and regularly see advanced dental cases. We’ve recently added a new ultrasound machine, and a new dental X-ray system will be arriving soon. Responsibilities
Provide veterinary consultations and surgical procedures as part of a flexible rota. Support case continuity and perform in-house case workups. Contribute to soft tissue surgeries (gastrotomies, cystotomies, enterotomies, mass removals, pyometras, ear procedures). Assist with endoscopic GI investigations and advanced dental cases. Utilise new equipment (ultrasound, dental X-ray) as they become available. Engage in ongoing professional development and training as part of a collaborative team.
Work Pattern
Rota patterns that work for you: full-time or part-time hours with flexibility. Typical full-time role: 40 hours over 4/5 days. No sole charge, weekends, bank holidays, or out-of-hours.
Practice and Location We are a well-established, community-focused practice with a strong local reputation, based near great transport links into Central London and only 30 minutes from Heathrow Airport. Facilities We are well-equipped with digital X-ray, new ultrasound, a dental machine (upcoming dental X-ray), endoscope, rhinoscope, ECG, suction, electrocautery, digital microscope with camera, and in-house lab. The clinic comprises two spacious consult rooms, a surgical theatre, a dental/procedure station, and a dedicated imaging area. Development and Support
Supported by a varied clinical team, led by an experienced Practice Manager. Peripatetic specialists visit regularly. Compensation and Benefits
