If you are looking to join a forward-thinking, flexible practice paying up to £70,000 depending on experience, this is the one for you!
Our colleagues at our Bridgend practice have worked incredibly hard to offer a truly unique working environment that not only prides itself on its exceptional care but also on the excellent opportunities it provides to their colleagues.
The practice itself is ideally located within a 2-mile drive of the M4, making it very commutable, and is within a 20-minute drive of the beautiful South Wales coast and close to Cardiff, offering the best of all worlds.
The practice has recently undergone a revamp, creating a spacious environment with 4 consult rooms, a kennel and cattery, 2 theatres, a prep theatre, full in-house lab, isolation area, washroom, and a separate office.
As the practice aims to do as much investigation work as possible before referrals, a CT scanner is available regularly to support our vets. Other equipment includes:
- Doppler US
- ECG
- Endoscope
- Digital x-ray
- Dental x-ray
Our colleagues appreciate that a great environment is complemented by strong support. The team includes 4 vets, 6 nurses (2 students, 4 qualified), 7 VCAs, a reception team, and an experienced practice manager, ensuring support for the right candidate. The team actively participates in charity events to give back to the community.
The role offers real flexibility, whether short or long days, full-time or part-time, or taking longer lunch breaks for walks on the beach. We are open to discussing all options.
We support our colleagues' professional development, including training and certificates they wish to pursue.
Additional benefits include:
- A competitive salary up to £70,000
- 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 33 days after 2 years (pro-rata)
- Paid lunch breaks
- Generous CPD tailored to your needs
- Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS)
- No OOH or overnight in-patient checks
- Contributory pension scheme
- Exclusive discounts, including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room, Vet Group, and other retailers
The ideal candidate will have a good general knowledge of surgery and a strong medical background, but we are open to discussing opportunities with those at the beginning of their veterinary career.
This position offers a modern approach and encourages you to shape your own role. For more information, contact Lizzie at WestVet@vets4pets.com.
We value diversity and inclusivity. If you meet the role requirements, we’d love to hear from you, regardless of your background or experience.
Location: CF31 3TN
Pets see people. They are unbiased and non-discriminatory. We aim to reflect the diversity of our communities and encourage everyone to be themselves. Even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly match, your values and behaviors can make a unique contribution. We look forward to your application!
