Veterinary Surgeon – Twilight Weekend

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our weekend team at PetMedics for an ECC role. This is working 1 weekend every 4 weeks, on our twilight shift between 4pm-12am.

What we are looking for

  • An experienced (2 years +) veterinary surgeon, ECC experience preferable but not essential, as mentoring can be provided
  • Excellent communication skills and time management in the emergency setting
  • Can be consult only, due to vets with surgical bias on shift to take patients to theatre if preferred
  • Regular weekend rota, so can work around a job elsewhere
  • No sole charge: there are always 2-4 other vets on shift with you, depending on the time of day.

Who are we?

PetMedics is a large 24-hour veterinary hospital, staffed by a truly superb clinical team of 33 veterinary surgeons, 40 nurses and PCAs, all committed and able to offer the best possible level of care to our patients.

Our facilities include – 4 theatres, 6 consulting rooms, a dedicated ICU, on-site CT scanner, digital x-ray, 3x ultrasound machines, endoscopy, laparoscopy, mechanical ventilation, and an in-house laboratory.

You will have the support of our very experienced veterinary team, with Certificate holders in: ECC, surgery, medicine, imaging, dermatology, dentistry, ophthalmology, cardiology and clinical pathology.

Salary, shifts and benefits

The successful Veterinary Surgeon will be offered a competitive salary, dependent on experience.

We currently have the following shift pattern available: 1x weekend every 4 weeks of 4pm - 12am (7.5-hour shift of ECC consults, on with 3 other vets). If this isn\'t quite right, how about our taking a look at our other Twilight role here.
