Salary: Up to £110,000 - £115,000 + bonus + benefits (City / London, hybrid working)
We are recruiting for 2 permanent Business Analyst / Project Manager roles at VP level within the EMEA Finance Change / Transformation team for a global corporate and investment banking group based in the City/London.
The role provides a technical bridge between Finance, IT developers and the business and contributes a blend of business and accounting knowledge as well as a strong understanding of system data flows, data structures and other analytical skills. For one role, the candidate will be a well‑rounded generalist finance change BA / PM working on a variety of projects/programmes across products and business lines. For the second role, the project will be Oracle Cloud based; the ideal candidate will have business practical experience using Oracle Cloud and Oracle on‑prem GL systems, documented, actioned, and tested business requirements and change requests, and created runbooks and coordinated delivery to plan.
Profile Criteria
- Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with banking or financial services experience, having worked on Finance or Business projects with accounting and finance impact.
- Business Analyst with Project Management experience (hands‑on, end‑to‑end).
- First‑rate technical and analytical skills in data extraction and analysis techniques including SQL and MS Excel with large financial and non‑financial datasets.
- Familiarity with data analytics and automation tools such as Power BI, Alteryx, Python highly desirable.
Position Summary
- Deliver well‑controlled, efficient, and innovative change to Finance and for Finance initiated change.
- Ensure Finance function meets mandatory reporting obligations across EMEA efficiently and accurately.
- Provide technical accounting input, data analysis, solution prototyping, forecasting, and change testing for ongoing Finance & Control and Bank‑wide operational and strategic projects.
- Perform data analysis and reconciliation using MS Excel and SQL, interrogating large financial and non‑financial datasets.
- Provide training and support to system users for reporting and decision making, including preparing and delivering training materials and user documentation.
- Champion automation and efficiency for Finance department reporting functions.
Responsibilities and tasks
- Interpret, draft, and document business requirements, translating them into clear deliverables (gap analysis, data interpretation, solution evaluation, proposal).
- Ensure core deliverables are produced on time and to spec by monitoring development progress, providing guidance, technical oversight, and preparing, executing, and signing off testing.
- Drive innovation and efficiencies across the bank through business process reengineering (BPR), automation, process/reporting simplification, and proactive identification of reporting enhancements.
- Business partner by providing training, technical guidance, and data analysis to stakeholders and business units.
- Ensure bank policy relative to external or material reporting is adhered to by monitoring planned developments and reviewing sign‑off documentation as part of change management.
- Lead key user forum and developer progress meetings, preparing and issuing relevant meeting materials.
- Provide technical accounting interpretation and analysis including financial forecasting/modeling.
