The successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK, with occasional travel to London required for key leadership meetings and team events.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Principal, the Vice Principal of Academics will lead the development and delivery of the school\'s academic strategy. This role is ideal for a passionate, future-focused educational leader who thrives in a digital environment and is committed to raising standards through innovation, collaboration, and values-led leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the academic vision, curriculum planning, and teaching standards across the school
  • Drive continuous improvement in academic outcomes through effective use of data and feedback
  • Line-manage and support academic staff, fostering professional growth and excellence
  • Ensure curriculum delivery is inclusive, innovative, and aligned with regulatory frameworks
  • Promote a high-performance culture grounded in respect, compassion, and collaboration
  • Lead quality assurance processes and professional development across subject teams

Person Specification

  • Proven experience in academic leadership, ideally in an online or flexible learning environment
  • Deep understanding of curriculum design, pedagogy, and performance monitoring
  • Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, values-led approach
  • Excellent communication and coaching abilities
  • Tech-savvy and confident navigating digital learning platforms and virtual environments
  • Relevant teaching qualification and a degree in education or a related field
  • Willingness and ability to travel to London occasionally for key meetings
