Visiting Tutor: Sustainable Engineering and Technology

Overview
We are recruiting a visiting tutor to join Roehampton Education Services Ltd (RESL), delivering on our Foundation Programmes on behalf of the University of Roehampton. This includes the Foundation Programme Extended Degree; International Foundation Programme; Foundation Studies Certificate of Higher Education; International Foundation Programme: Certificate of Higher Education. RESL is developing and growing its preparatory, international, and technical and vocational education and training.
Responsibilities
- Join the team in the School of Continuing Education as a Visiting Tutor with experience in teaching a relevant discipline (Sustainable Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying or similar) within a Further or Higher Education context.
- Teach, manage and deliver modules (e.g. Introduction to the Built Environment; Applied Knowledge and Skills in the Built Environment).
- Contribute to student teaching and pastoral support as appropriate.
- Adopt a diverse and flexible approach to teaching, learning and assessment, with experience working with Level 4 Foundation students.
- Lead individual and group learning sessions to promote self-directed study and independent learning, including in-person, hybrid and asynchronous learning.
- Provide structured independent activities and materials that extend beyond scheduled contact time; make course materials available via the e-learning platform.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience in education and/or training with teaching and learning approaches listed above, student support, and marking assessments.
- Industry experience is desirable; experience with virtual learning environments is advantageous.
- Student‑centred approach; excellent interpersonal and analytical skills; ability to work with a wide range of students and flexibly.
Appointment Details
We are looking to appoint immediately from September 2025 and will interview as applications are received.
Pay: up to £56.72 per hour for teaching, which includes contact time, preparation, marking, and annual leave. Additional responsibilities (agreed in advance by the Director or Head of School) are paid up to £26.94 per hour.
