You will play a key role in strengthening the foundation of a Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to supporting the fair and responsible integration of migrants into their new communities. Your expertise will help ensure our operations are financially sound, transparent, and compliant—enabling us to deliver life-changing services with confidence and credibility. By advising on budgeting, financial planning, and compliance, you’ll directly contribute to our ability to secure funding, manage resources efficiently, and expand our reach. Your guidance will help us stay accountable to stakeholders, meet legal obligations, and build trust with funders and partners. With a solid financial framework in place, we’ll be able to focus on what truly matters empowering migrants through access to housing, employment, education, and legal support. Your support will enable the CIC to plan long-term, deliver impactful programs, and demonstrate measurable outcomes—essential for attracting sustainable funding and partnerships. You will also empower non-financial staff and volunteers to make informed decisions by translating complex financial matters into clear, actionable insights. Ultimately, your role will help ensure that every pound we receive goes further in creating opportunities, fostering inclusion, and supporting migrants in building safe, dignified, and hopeful futures in their new communities.

What are we looking for?

Key Skills & Experience more than 3 years experience in finance, accountancy, or auditing (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent preferred). In-depth knowledge of UK financial compliance, particularly within CICs, charities, or non-profit organisations. Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax, reporting requirements, and risk management practices. Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance professionals. A collaborative mindset, with a genuine passion for supporting social impact and community initiatives. High integrity, attention to detail, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.

What will you be doing?

We are a passionate and purpose-driven Community Interest Company (CIC) seeking a dedicated Pro Bono Financial Compliance & Accountancy Advisor to support our mission and help us maintain strong financial health, transparency, and accountability. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise to a social enterprise making a meaningful difference in the community. Key Responsibilities Provide advice on financial compliance matters, including CIC regulations, Companies House and HMRC requirements, and Charity Commission guidelines (if applicable).Assist with the review and interpretation of financial statements, annual reports, and financial forecasting. Advise on budgeting, financial planning, and risk management to support sustainable growth. Ensure financial controls, policies, and procedures are robust, efficient, and up to date. Support the preparation and submission of statutory filings, annual accounts, and reports. Help ensure financial transparency and governance in line with regulatory and ethical standards. Offer input into funding applications, donor reporting, and impact reporting when needed. Collaborate with directors and team members to provide strategic financial insight that aligns with the CIC’s goals.
