Flexible, part‑time (8 hrs/week), mostly remote. Ideal for someone with HR experience and a passion for social impact and community‑led work.ResponsibilitiesBuild a positive and inclusive volunteer cultureEnsure all policies, procedures, and safeguarding practices meet current legal standardsImprove volunteer retention, satisfaction, and onboardingSupport our leadership team with strategic HR guidanceFoster a safe, ethical, and empowering environment for both volunteers and service usersQualificationsHR expertise – proven experience in human resources, ideally at a managerial or strategic level within a charity, social enterprise, or corporate settingStrong legal knowledge – solid understanding of UK employment and volunteer law, including safeguarding, equality and diversity, GDPR, and health & safetyLeadership & initiative – confident working independently, taking ownership of projects, and advising our leadership team; comfortable developing policies, systems, and procedures from the ground upExcellent communication skills – clear and compassionate communication with a diverse range of volunteers, staff, and stakeholders; deliver inductions, advise on sensitive issues, and shape volunteer cultureOrganisation & reliability – well‑organised, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities; consistent weekly commitment essential to maintain continuityEthical & inclusive approach – share our values of dignity, respect, and inclusion; embed these principles into HR practicesExperience & QualificationsCIPD qualification – ideally hold CIPD Level 5 or above, or be working towards this; equivalent experience consideredSector knowledge – experience working within the charity, community, or CIC sector highly desirable, particularly with volunteer‑led teamsSafeguarding & volunteer management – familiarity with safeguarding procedures and managing volunteers a strong assetDocument creation – confident creating HR templates, contracts, volunteer agreements, policies, and role descriptionsPersonal AttributesEmpathetic and people‑focusedProactive and solutions‑drivenCommitted to equity, diversity, and inclusionPassionate about social justice and community support #J-18808-Ljbffr
