You will champion the use of behavioural and social science in new sectors to create a healthier, fairer society for all, leaving a lasting legacy on the effectiveness, efficiency and equitableness of public sector service delivery in the UK, and internationally.
Responsibilities
What will you be doing?
- Lead the expansion of BSPHN by building and strengthening strategic partnerships with individuals, communities, and organisations across the public, private, and third sectors.
- Support a team of sector-specific Partnership Leads focused on developing mutually beneficial relationships that advance the mission to place behavioural and social science at the heart of public sector service delivery improvement.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for collaboration aligned to organisational goals.
Qualifications
Essential Requirements
- Experience: Proven track record of success in building and managing strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of applying behavioural science to public or population health, primary or secondary or specialist clinical care, education, social care, climate and sustainability, or policy.
- Management: Experience managing small, high performing teams.
- Relationship Building: Ability to build trust-based relationships across sectors and levels.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication; able to represent the organisation to various audiences.
- Strategic Thinking: Proactive and strategic; able to identify collaboration opportunities aligned to organisational goals.
- Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and with external partners.
- Mission Alignment: Commitment to BSPHN's mission of improving effectiveness, efficiency, and equity through behavioural science.
- Education: A relevant Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience.
Desirable Requirements
- Advanced Degree: Masters or Ph.D. in a relevant field such as behavioural science, medicine or allied health, social science, public health, health policy, or a related area.
- UK Context: Experience with UK health, social care, education sectors, or policy landscape.
- Advocacy: Experience in advocating for policy or service reform using behavioural/science insights.
- Capacity Building: Experience supporting training or capacity-building initiatives in behavioural science.
- Stakeholder Network: Established network within the UK behavioural science, public health, or policy communities.
