VP of Platform Engineering | Fintech | London (Ideally 1-2 days in London)

A scaling, global fintech, powering top-tier e-commerce, payments, and tech brands is looking for a VP of Platform Engineering to lead the next phase of platform maturity.

This is your opportunity to:

  • Build and scale high-performance, secure, cloud-native infrastructure
  • Lead platform architecture, CI/CD, DevOps tooling, observability, and security
  • Own platform reliability, developer experience, and operational excellence
  • Drive a forward-thinking engineering culture focused on velocity and resilience

This is a senior leadership position and requires a deep technical background in architecting and operating high performance platforms, microservices, API-driven development, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction for platform engineering and scale complex systems in a fast-growing environment
  • Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing platform/infrastructure teams
  • Ensure platform reliability, security, and performance while delivering strong developer experience
  • Collaborate with product, security, and operations to maintain operational excellence

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership of high-performing platform/infrastructure teams
  • A strategic mindset with the ability to scale systems in complex environments
  • Experience in high-growth, product-led tech environments (fintech a bonus)
  • Strong background in architecting and operating high-performance platforms, microservices, API-driven development, and distributed systems
