Overview

The EMEA Energy and Water team is looking for a Water Infrastructure Manager to support scaling and growth across our Data Centre network. You will drive the development, implementation and construction of new water infrastructure to deliver large-scale water projects and water infrastructure renewals that support sustainable operation.

This role is available in Madrid, Zaragoza, London, Frankfurt, and Dublin.

Key responsibilities

  • You will own the end-to-end delivery of off-site water infrastructure solutions, from scoping to physical delivery, acting as the business and technical owner of all aspects of the delivery.
  • Manage third-party design consultants, develop and document requirements, budgets, business cases, permitting and project schedules.
  • Prepare project contracts, milestone payments, and schedules; guide the contract through legal reviews and procurement pathways.
  • Demonstrate strong project management and technical competency in design with programmatic leadership through legal and procurement to drive results.
  • Multitask, re-prioritize, and effectively lead deliveries based on changing business needs.
  • Build and maintain the overall delivery program and project budget, submitting Capital Allocation Requests to senior leadership to secure funding.
  • Prepare investment needs and business case papers to secure internal funding for water reinforcement projects to ensure water supply and discharges.

A day in the life

  • Liaise with regulators and external stakeholders (water utilities, environmental agencies, health departments, construction contractors, etc.).
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders (Design Engineering, Environmental, Legal, Procurement, Construction, Real Estate, etc.).
  • Use project management tools and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Regularly report to senior leadership on status of key project metrics versus commitments.
  • Ensure construction standards are followed and national construction regulations are complied with.
  • Create detailed planning packs to build scalable and future-proof water infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience delivering water design infrastructure and engineering solutions for capital-intensive projects across diversified industries.
  • Language fluency in French, German, or Spanish highly regarded; business English is mandatory.
  • 5+ years managing end-to-end project scope, business case and infrastructure requirements; experience with contracts, RFPs, and capital requests.
  • 3+ years of analytical and commercial experience reviewing utility tariffs, water projects, and contracts.
  • 7+ years of direct experience with construction, operation, or maintenance of water infrastructure across global regions.
  • Experience with fast-track design/build projects and working with multiple stakeholders with varied requirements.
  • Analytical mindset to identify gaps, predict performance, and provide recommendations with limited information.
  • Business experience in Europe, LATAM and/or Middle East.
  • 5+ years in program management, risk mitigation, and status reporting to management and internal customers.
