About the Role
As theWater Quality Leadfor ourreservoir programme, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing and delivering a comprehensivewater quality strategyaligned with theDrinking Water Safety Planning (DWSP)approach. You’ll lead a team of dedicated water quality scientists, ensuring that water quality risks are identified, assessed, and managed from source to tap throughout the lifecycle of our reservoir projects.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the design, construction, and operation of our new reservoirs, working closely with internal teams, regulators, and external partners to ensure safe, sustainable water for generations to come.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation and implementation of a robust water quality strategy across all project phases of the reservoir development.
- Lead on water quality gateway submissions ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Lead on future WRMP development on water quality expertise.
- Oversee DWSP-based risk assessments and mitigation planning.
- Manage and develop a high-performing team of scientists and advisors.
- Engage with key stakeholders including DWI, RAPID, Cambridge Water, and scientific contractors.
- Represent Anglian Water in public consultations, regulatory meetings, and strategic workshops.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance.
About You
We’re looking for a strategic thinker and experienced leader with:
- Extensive experience inwater process science,public health, andwater treatment.
- Drinking water safety planning experience.
- Water quality regulatory experience .
- Proven leadership, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong project management and IT capabilities.
- Apostgraduate qualificationin a relevant scientific discipline.
- Chartered membershipof a professional body (or working towards).
- A commitment to doing the right thing and building trust across all levels.
