Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Welding Tutor / Assessor to deliver high-quality practical and theoretical welding training. The role involves teaching learners, assessing their skills, and supporting them throughout their programme to ensure they gain recognised qualifications and are workplace-ready. Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging welding training sessions, including MIG, TIG, and MMA techniques. Assess learners' practical skills and theoretical knowledge using approved assessment methods. Provide ongoing guidance and support to learners to help them achieve their qualification goals. Maintain accurate records of learner progress, assessments, and feedback. Ensure a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment in the workshop. Keep up to date with industry standards, health and safety regulations, and assessment best practices. Collaborate with other staff to continuously improve the quality of teaching and assessment.
Ideal Candidate / Required Qualifications
Strong practical experience in welding (MIG, TIG, MMA) and relevant industry experience. Teaching qualification desirable but not essential - willingness to complete with support. Assessor qualification (A1 / TAQA) desirable but not essential. Passionate about supporting learners to develop skills for meaningful careers in welding and engineering.
