Overview

WINEP Project Manager - Senior/Principal (Water Resources) – WSP. Manage WINEP water resources projects within the Catchment Science team in Sustainable Water Management Consulting, collaborating with hydrogeologists, hydrologists, geomorphologists and hydro-ecologists to deliver high-quality technical assessments and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Work across the Sustainable Water Management and Aquatic Ecology teams to manage and support the delivery of robust technical assessments and high-quality reporting
• Lead day-to-day client and regulator engagement for delivery of WINEP investigations
• Project management including financial and change control and quality assurance through checking and reviewing
• Collaborate with Service Area leads to support development and delivery of the pipeline of WINEP projects
• Generate high-quality bid proposals and develop innovative solutions to meet client needs
• Promote a safety-first attitude in line with WSP health and safety policy and procedures

What We Will Be Looking For / Qualifications

• Experience of managing WINEP investigations or similar, including project and technical management, with the ability to coordinate a wider team of experts
• A clear understanding of regulatory requirements and expectations of WINEP investigations, particularly relating to the Water Framework Directive
• Experience in projects involving assessing impacts of abstraction on the water environment; ability to understand applications and work with technical experts to deliver projects
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
• Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify and develop business opportunities and prepare winning proposals
• Excellent report-writing and technical review skills
• MSc and/or BSc degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. earth sciences, environmental science, geography); working towards or gained chartership with a relevant professional body
